For this project, we created wearable sculptures that are a total of 6 foot diameter when worn on our body, 3 feet on each side. We wanted to visually emphasize and bring attention to the 6 foot social distance guidelines, thinking about how our physical movements have been affected and or restricted during the Pandemic. We experimented with different building materials, learned how to build 3d forms, and played with the idea of movement and physical space. Our wearable sculptures are meant to take up space while being a playful visual divider between us. Students that were participating in remote learning were able to create small scale sculptures through through the use of small scale mannequins and at home materials.
